Theatre Wala

Theatre Wala was founded a decade ago and since then group has been known for its various performances throughout the nation for plays like Mujhse Pehli Si Mohabbat Mere Mehboob Naa Maang, Koi Baat Chale, Charuduttam etc.The group members firmly believes in the ideology of their director following a very simple rule for efforts made and effects observed. The performers under Theatre Wala banner are taught to communicate literature experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music or dance.

Elements of design and stagecraft are used to enhance the physicality, presence and immediacy of the experience. Theatre Wala group presupposes collaborative modes of production enhancing a more collective form of reception to the audience.

Ram Ji Bali – Director

Born in Faridabad (Haryana),started his theatre life from 1993 in his very own city. From 1994 to 1996 he joined a 2 yrs course for Acting in Sri Ram Center of performing arts (New Delhi),alongside continued to actively participate and direct many plays like Bichchu, Proposal, Ek ladki Paanch Diwaane, Dulari Bai, Ghade ki Baaraat, Inspector Matdin Chand Par, Chatur Rohan, Muaavze etc.. He joined 1997-1998 in NSD repertory company & during 1998-2001 he joined the country’s prestigious and well known professional acting school,National School of Drama(Delhi) as an actor and completed his graduation from the same organisation in 2001.From that time on he has been working as a freelance actor/director in the field of arts and performance.

Apart from this he has also been a part of various T.V.serials and Movies such as:
Paan Singh Tomar, Khosla ka Ghosla, 9/11 The last fall, The Search, Chigguri The Kansu (National award winning Kannada movie). He as a Writer have written many plays such as Naalanda, Koi baat chale, Mujhse pehli si mohabbat Mere Mehboob Na Maang, Ghulam Radharani Ke, Sarat Chandra – Ek Awaara Masiha, etc.

Yashpal Sharma

He was born and brought up in a lower-middle-class family in Hisar, Haryana. From a young age, he was interested in acting and used to actively organise and participate in Ramlila during Dasara (also called Navaratri) festivals.

He passed out NSD in 1994 & joined the National School of Drama Repertory Company in Delhi, where he worked for about two years before moving to Mumbai in 1997.

His first big break was Govind Nihlani’s film, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), which gave him a chance to act alongside Jaya Bachchan and Nandita Das. He also started appearing in commercial films, like Shool and Arjun Pandit. However it was the Academy Award-nominated Lagaan (2001) which brought him to limelight, and thereafter he appeared in Gangajal (2003) and Ab Tak Chhappan. He has been regular in films of Shyam Benegal and Prakash Jha and continues to work as a stage actor in Mumbai.

In 2010, he acted in Rage productions bilingual play, One on One. and the play Lakeerein, written by Gulzar and directed by Salim Arif, opposite actor, Lubna Salim., and made his television debut with Mera Naam Karegi Roshan on Zee TV. His upcoming film as lead is Das Capital directed by Rajen Kothari. Nominated: Filmfare Best Villain Award for Gangaajal.

Ritu Sharma

Passed out from National School of Drama in 2010 did numerous plays with famous directors.

She did many serials for DD-1 including ‘Meri Yaadon Ki Chinar’, Directed by Sagar Sarhadi,
‘Zohra Begum’, Directed by Shailendra Goel and ‘Bunty Aur Bubly Ki Mummy” of Indian Production House

An art film ‘Uthaan”, Directed by Deepak Saxena
Short Film ”Kissing The Ashtray” directed by Pooja Naval.

A feature film “Kutumb” directed by Amit Yadav
